What is Guru Chandal Dosha
Guru Chandal is the name for Jupiter, the planet of teachers, wisdom and tradition, joining Rahu, the planet of ambition and unconventional ideas. Traditional descriptions speak of questioning customs and teachers, or of mixed advice; modern readers often add that it can also mean an original, independent mind.
How it is worked out
Jupiter and Rahu in the same sign. The closer they are in degrees, the stronger the pattern is considered. Jupiter with Ketu is treated separately by some astrologers and is shown here as a variant.
Common cancellations
- Jupiter is in its own sign (Sagittarius or Pisces) or exalted (Cancer).गुरु अपनी राशि (धनु या मीन) में है या उच्च (कर्क) का है।
- Jupiter and Rahu are more than about 10° apart, so the conjunction is loose.गुरु और राहु लगभग 10° से अधिक दूर हैं, इसलिए युति ढीली है।
Traditional remedies
Traditional remedies are acts of devotion, discipline and kindness: prayer, simple fasting, charity and mantra. They cost little or nothing, and they can be kept up quietly at home.
- Fastingव्रत. Thursday fasting, as your family practises it.अपने परिवार की रीति के अनुसार गुरुवार का व्रत।
- Mantraमंत्र. The Jupiter mantra “ॐ ग्रां ग्रीं ग्रौं सः गुरवे नमः” on Thursdays, and the Vishnu Sahasranama.गुरुवार को गुरु मंत्र “ॐ ग्रां ग्रीं ग्रौं सः गुरवे नमः” और विष्णु सहस्रनाम।
- Worshipउपासना. Honour teachers, elders and gurus, and worship Vishnu or Brihaspati on Thursdays.शिक्षकों, बुज़ुर्गों और गुरुजनों का सम्मान करें, और गुरुवार को विष्णु या बृहस्पति की उपासना करें।
- Charityदान. Give yellow items (turmeric, chana dal, bananas) or books on Thursdays.गुरुवार को पीली वस्तुएँ (हल्दी, चना दाल, केले) या पुस्तकें दान करें।
