What Bhrigu Nandi Nadi is
Bhrigu Nandi Nadi is one of the Nadi traditions of South India, made widely known by R.G. Rao. Instead of houses and the Lagna, it reads the chart through the planets themselves: each planet stands for a part of life, and the planets that sit with it, next to it, in trine or opposite it describe how that part of life turns out.
Which planet stands for what
Jupiter is the person in a man’s chart and Venus in a woman’s. Saturn is work, Venus the wife and Mars the husband, the Sun the father and the Moon the mother, Mars siblings, land and property, Jupiter children in a woman’s chart, and Mercury learning and business. Rahu brings foreign and unconventional links, Ketu detachment and change.
How the links are read
A planet joins another when it is in the same sign (strongest), the next or previous sign, a trine (5th or 9th) or the opposite sign (7th). A retrograde planet also acts from the sign behind it, and two planets in each other’s signs act from each other’s place. Timing comes from transits: Jupiter over a birth planet opens up its area of life, Saturn over it tests it.
