How this rashifal is made
Most weekly and monthly horoscopes are written by hand, often weeks in advance. This one is worked out from the actual sky for the period and city you choose. Each day is rated by the house the Moon occupies counted from your rashi (Chandra gochara), and days with the Moon in the 8th (Chandrashtama) are marked as days to go slowly. Surya, Mangal, Budh and Shukra are read by the house they transit from your sign, using the classical favourable houses for each planet, and Shani, Guru and Rahu give the slower background.
Moon sign, not Sun sign
In Vedic astrology your rashi is the sign the Moon was in when you were born, measured in the sidereal zodiac. It is usually different from the Western Sun sign you read in magazines. If you don't know it, the nakshatra finder or your kundali will tell you in seconds.

A rashifal treats everyone with the same Moon sign alike. My Day goes further: it adds Tara bala from your birth nakshatra and your running dasha.
How to use the weekly rashifal
The week runs from Monday to Sunday. In that time the Moon passes through three or four signs, so most weeks hold a mix of strong days and slow ones. The page picks out the best days, when the Moon is in the 3rd, 6th, 10th or 11th from your sign, and the days to go slowly, when it is in the 8th. Put meetings, applications and important calls on the best days, and keep routine work for the slow ones.
How the week is rated
Each day is first rated by the Moon’s house, exactly as in the daily rashifal. The week’s rating is the average of those seven days, nudged up or down by the faster planets: Surya, Mangal, Budh and Shukra each count a little in your favour when they transit a house the classical texts call good for them, and a little against you when they do not. Guru and Shani add a little more, because their influence lasts for months.
The favourable houses counted from the Moon sign are: Surya 3, 6, 10 and 11; Mangal 3, 6 and 11; Budh 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11; Shukra every house except the 6th, 7th and 10th; Guru 2, 5, 7, 9 and 11; Shani and Rahu 3, 6 and 11.
Sade Sati and Dhaiya in the weekly reading
If Shani is in the 12th, 1st or 2nd sign from yours, you are in Sade Sati; if it is in the 4th or 8th, you are in Dhaiya. Both last for years, so the weekly page simply reminds you to keep a steady pace. The Sade Sati guide explains the phases and the traditional remedies.
Why might my best days differ from a friend’s with the same sign?
They should not, for the same city: the reading depends only on the Moon sign. If you are in different time zones, the Moon can change sign on a different local date, which shifts a day at the edge of the week.
